History

One Day I saw a mentally disturbed person who approached and begged me to give him something to eat. I had a lengthy interaction with the man who seemed to at time answer some questions intelligently and at some other time the man would not utter a word.

This prompted me to consider the idea that given the needed support to some of these unfortunate mentally disturbed persons such as, Drug addicts, Alcoholics and Psychologically challenged individuals in terms of getting medical treatment and examination, provision of food and shelter and emotionally if they get some people to share their plights with, it will in a way relief them from emotional stress and to further do away with the societal perception that they are “Mad People”

Therefore, in the middle of 2011, with some benevolent individuals started identifying and location some of these drug addicts and alcoholics and offered them the assistance they needed. Initially the organization started with seven (7) inmates comprising two (2) females and five (5) males. As at now, the organization boasts of fourthy-two (42) imamates with twenthy-six (26) females and sixteen (16)males. The age difference range  between 19yrs and 63 years respectively.

It must be noted that the organization is a Christian Non-Governmental Organization located at Kwamo near Ejisu. The in-mates were identified through the organization’s outreach programs at  ghetto and other faith-based organizations within the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality. At the end of the day, contacts were made with relatives of these unfortunate one before sending them to the centre.

It is hoped that with the needed logistics and resources made available, the organization could expand its facilities in order to bring in more addicts for their rehabilitations.
